Program director and teacher Sonia Vargas (Ms. Sonia) is a long-time piano and voice teacher, delighted to be sharing music in Issaquah with young children and their families. She sings and plays ukulele during class to demonstrate her excitement for the Music Together^® philosophy and curriculum.

Sonia successfully completed the in-person Music Together Teacher Training in 2019, under one of the co-founders of the Music Together program, Dr. Lili Levinowitz. Held at the Music Center of the Northwest in Seattle, Washington, training included practices informed by research into early childhood and music development. Sonia attends workshops every semester and the advanced training sessions offered by Music Together Worldwide. She maintains membership and pursues continuous education in local, state and national music teacher associations.

Sonia attends professional live musical performances and takes various music workshops that celebrate composition and instrumentation from around the world. She has two adult children who acquired her love for music.
